Furniture terms and conditions

Customer satisfaction is vitally important to us, and the following terms and conditions are in place to provide you with complete transparency. Please read these terms and conditions in full before making a purchase. Having read these, if you have any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact us.

By using or accessing our website and/or placing any order(s) with Unni and Evans Limited (or herein referred to as ‘we’), the customer (or herein referred to as ‘you’) agree to be legally bound by these terms and conditions. The terms and conditions given herein do not affect your statutory rights.

1. Orders and payment

1.1 We reserve the right to alter site prices at any time. However, this will not affect the price of any item, once a purchase has been made.

1.2 We reserve the right to cancel and refund any order at any time.

1.3 Payment will be taken in full at the time of the order. Your order will be confirmed once payment has been processed.

2. Delivery

2.1 You are responsible for providing safe access from the public highway to the place of delivery. If our carrier’s delivery staff consider that access is unsafe then they will not deliver the goods until such time as safe access is provided. A charge for re-delivery will apply.

2.2 If we attempt to make delivery on the date and time slot that you have accepted and no one is present to accept delivery of the goods, you will incur a re-delivery charge.

2.3 We will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you through any delay to the delivery of a product.

2.4 Our free delivery service is based on delivery to a ground floor location/property. It does not include delivery into properties that, for example, have flights of stairs and no elevators. A charge for re-delivery will apply if our carrier arrives at a destination with flights of stairs or other difficult access conditions.

If you have any questions or concerns about access to your chosen delivery location being suitable, please ensure you raise these by emailing hello@unniandevans.com immediately after placing your order.

2.5 If you are unable, for whatever reason, to take delivery of your goods on the confirmed delivery date you originally accepted, you must inform us at least three working days in advance so that another date can be arranged. An administration fee of £20 may be charged.

2.6 We offer free delivery on all products within mainland UK. This does not include Northern Ireland or any other part of the UK geographically separate from Great Britain, which will be subject to an additional charge, due to the higher associated costs of delivery. Please enquire regarding additional rates prior to placing any order.

3. Returns, refunds and cancellation rights

3.1 If for any reason you change your mind and wish to return or exchange your goods, you can do so by informing us within 14 days of receipt of your order. Refunds or exchanges cannot be given after this time. If you wish to exercise this right, please email us at hello@unniandevans.com within the specified time frame, and we will arrange a courier collection for you. You will be responsible for a £19.50 contribution towards the cost of returning any items, and this will be deducted from any subsequent refund. Please note that return charges apply once goods have left our warehouse and are in transit, even if you cancel the order prior to delivery.

Items must be returned either in their original packaging or, if this packaging is damaged, packaging which will provide the same level of protection during return transit. Products must arrive back to us in mint condition. We reserve the right to consider the condition of any item you return to us and deduct from your refund the value of any damage to the product.

Collections can usually be arranged within 14 days, but can take up to 28 days. You will be refunded within 14 days of the product being successfully returned to us.

3.2 We strive to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition. In the unlikely event that your furniture is damaged in transit goods, please provide clear photographs of the damaged item within 48 hours of delivery, so that we can resolve the issue as efficiently as possible for you.

3.3. If goods are damaged in transit, our liability for that damage is limited to the repair, replacement or refund of the product you have ordered.

4. Guarantee

We guarantee all products against faulty workmanship and/or faulty materials for a period of 12 months, from the date of delivery. This guarantee does not cover fair wear and tear. It also does not cover natural characteristics of wooden products, including movement in wooden products, or neglect, abuse or misuse of your goods, including the loss or damage due to fire, smoke, water, lightning, sunlight, weather, rusting, corrosion, theft or explosion, accidental damage or loss or damage caused by a third party.

5. Data protection

5.1 We process your personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

5.2 We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any third parties, except for the purposes of arranging delivery.

5.3 No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure. As a result, while we will endeavour to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information which you send to us, and you do so at your own risk.

6. Liability disclaimer

6.1 We will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss of profits or other financial loss or damage arising out of defective, damaged or wrongly delivered products over and above the value of the goods themselves.

6.2 Unni and Evans Limited endeavours to check the accuracy of the information on this site. However, we cannot warrant that this information will be error free and the user acknowledges that any information published on this website may include inaccuracies. The information on our site is presented without any guarantees, conditions or warranties.

6.3 We will endeavour to ensure that our website is free from viruses and/or defects. However, we cannot guarantee that use of our website will not have any effect on your computer. We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributor denial of service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our website or to your downloading of any material posted on it, or any website linked to it.
